The Big Local Media Ball

08.30PM - 12:45AM | £45 with discounts for tables of 10

Royal Marriott Hotel

CREATIVE companies in Bristol and beyond have the chance to step out this summer at a media ball for the industry.

The glittering event is at the Royal Marriott Hotel, College Green, on August 26 and will raise funds for the Prince’s Trust, one of the leading charities working with young people in the South West.

The Bristol media scene is going from strength to strength with a vast diversity of talent within the city, from award-winning ad agencies and animators to publishers, digital agencies and production companies.

The event aims to unite all this influential talent under one roof.

Party-goers at the black-tie evening will enjoy a champagne reception, prize-packed auction run by BBC radio presenter Peter Rowell and entertainment from X Factor finalist Marissa Billiteri and Bristol jazz band All the Kinsmen, led by singer Steve Williams.

The ball is being organised by a team of employees from Bristol News & Media who publish the Evening Post, Western Daily Press, Metro and Venue.

Managing director Dawna Stickler is looking forward to the industry-wide event.

She said: “It is a great opportunity for creative local businesses to reward their employees and spend an evening networking with their contemporaries.”

The event is part of an enterprise project run by the Prince’s Trust, with all funds going directly to the charity’s work with young people in the area.

Bristol News & Media has already raised more than £8,000 through various events since the project started in February.

Ball-goers will be treated to some of the inspirational success stories of the trust, which has supported more than 3,000 young people in the South West in the past year including nearly 300 business start-ups and 380 community projects. Tickets for the event, which starts at 7.30pm, are .
