Urban Portraits - Photography Exhibition

Knowle West Media Centre
Knowle West Media Centre is hosting Urban Portraits, an exhibition of recent photographic work by Gina Lundy and Andrew Jackson. The show reflects both photographers’ concerns with the representation of individual lives. Gina Lundy’s work in particular incorporates portraits of young people from Bristol, often within school situations. The images are raw and intense, depicting the existential quality of each location.
Andrew Jackson, based in Birmingham, has devised and shown work all over the UK. His work deals with the everyday, sometimes captured through reframing the figure or confining itself to detail. His photographs are again
intense and often melancholic in feel.
Exhibition open Monday-Friday from 23 April – 21 May.
