New Tools New Ways of Working - The Business of Multiplatform
06.30PM - 09:00PM | Free
Goldbrick House
The session with BBC’s Marc Ramsay (Multiplatform Commissioning Executive), Lisa Sargood (Multiplatform Factual Commissioning), Jo Twist (Multiplatform BBC 3 Entertainment and BBC Switch Commissioning) and Martin Trickey (Multiplatform Comedy Commissioning) will be facilitated by Paul Appleby and Mark Leaver.
It’s an active session which will run to around 9pm, aiming to define the business landscape for multiplatform productions involving the BBC, provide the tools to define the special nature of individual multiplatform projects, develop a production roadmap from initial idea to exit strategy, and clarify the best route for an independent production to gain a BBC multiplatform commission.
It builds on a successful session we ran last November, with a mix of TV businesses and digital agencies. From a total of 40 participants, we have 25 spaces available for the TV and Digital companies/freelancers based in the South West
To make the session as fruitful as possible, we’ll need an expression of interest from companies or experienced freelancers. You should be looking to expand your business through strategic partnership. Companies must be based, or have a permanent production office, in the South West and attendees must be creatives at a senior level – for example, Executive Producer, Producer or Creative Director. Freelancers should have a significant track record and understanding of the television or digital media landscape.
So, please e-mail paul@bristolmedia.co.uk with 250 words by 1700 15th March answering the following questions:
- Who are you and what is your company’s background?
- Why this workshop is relevant to you and what you see as the opportunity?

The BBC is actively seeking to expand its supplier base of digital media businesses in the SW, for details see here
This is a “must attend” for anyone serious about extending into multiplatform production.
