Digital is the newest department within Aardman (http://www.aardman.co.uk/) with a mission to take some of the warm and creative imagination that informs Aardman’s film and TV production and direct it into new online entertainment products for other clients and as well as its own properties.

Over the last few years the entertainment industry has grown hungry for content that transcends across platforms. With this desire we find ourselves on a journey to discover what this actually means in terms of production and process.

This session is a chance to hear the mistakes, successes and general ramblings of a company venturing into the brave new unknown. Dan Efergan is Creative Director of Digital at Aardman Animations. That means he gets to spend a lot of time doing fun things like making games, nurturing online communities and solving other peoples’ digital problems.

This talk is part of Open Studio Friday which takes place at the Studio every week.

Lunchtime Talks are informal presentations by Studio residents and associates. They normally take place at 1pm and are free and open to everybody who’s interested in what we do.

After the Talk, we also invite you to stay with us for the afternoon to continue the conversation or work on your own projects. We provide chairs, tables, wireless and a great space. You bring what you need to work with (laptop/mobile).
