Wildscreen Festival - Sir Peter Scott Lecture

08.00PM - 09:15PM | Free - reservation required

Wills Memorial Great Hall, University of Bristol

A high point of the Wildscreen Festival each year is the prestigious keynote event, the Sir Peter Scott Lecture, which is held in honour of Wildscreen’s co-founder.

Forty years after the world’s first Earth Day, awareness of environmental issues is greater than ever. Yet, after decades of NGO campaigning and widespread media coverage, public motivation to do something does not come near to what is needed. Species extinction and habitat destruction accelerate. Global temperatures continue to rise. Why is the message not getting through and what are the solutions?

Panel:
Dr George Schaller, Vice President of Panthera & Senior Conservationist, Wildlife Conservation Society
Dr Jim Leape, Director General, WWF International
Julia Marton-Lefèvre, IUCN Director General
Dr George C McGavin, Scientist and ‘Lost Land of the Tiger’ Presenter
Ed Gillespie, Co-Founder, Futerra

This event is free, but people wishing to attend need to reserve a seat by telephoning: 0117 328 5950 or emailing: info@wildscreen.org.uk
