Contemporary Television and Politics
10.00AM - 05:00PM
Drama Department, Bristol University
This day school explores how a wide range of British and American TV series depict state power. We’ll view excerpts from contemporary fictional and documentary TV series such as Spooks, House of Cards, 24, The Power of Nightmares, and The West Wing and discuss the ways our national television institutions frame political issues. There will be opportunities for debate about both politics and its representation on the small screen.
