Do you need to learn how to promote your business to the full? During this workshop, led by Corixa Communications, Bristol Media’s PR Agency, delegates will be taken through the classic components of a press release and explore techniques that make releases more compelling for the news editor and the reader.

You’ll have the opportunity to examine the content and structure of releases that make a real impact and those that don’t! The course will be practical, and those attending are urged to bring a story on which they are working. This course is ideal for those new to media relations.

The course is aimed at anyone with a responsibility for marketing and pr in all the creative sectors: digital, design, tv, animation, music, publishing, advertising, marketing, event management, photography.

The course will cover the following elements:

• Identifying the audience and best channels to reach them

• Defining key messages

• Tactics: case studies, features, news

• How to write a press release and contact the media – Who, Where, Why, What, How

Candidates will come away from the course being able to define their audiences, key messages and having had the opportunity to write their own press release. The session will include small breakout groups and a practical press release writing session.

The Workshop will take place in The Loft at Goldbrick House on Tuesday 10th November from 1600-1800. The cost is £25.00 + VAT for Bristol Media members and £40+ VAT for non-members and includes tea/coffee and pastries.
