Madeleine Mitchell, ‘one of the UK’s foremost violinists’ (The Times), opens the Victoria Rooms FREE lunchtime concert series 2009/10 on Wednesday 7th October 1.15-2pm
Her appealing classical programme includes music for vioin and piano by Dvorak, a work specially written for Madeleine Mitchell by James MacMillan CBE: ‘Kiss on Wood and pieces from her acclaimed album ’Violin Songs’ – short romantic melodies by Bridge, Lili Boulanger etc. She is accompanied by pianist Nigel Clayton and will be signing copies of her albums after the concert
