Gloucestershire Media Group Launches Visual Soundtrack Project
A unique new growth and innovation programme designed to boost the Southwest’s music visual business has been opened by The GMG – the Gloucester based Creative Industries support group.
Visual Soundtrack is a year long project aimed at high growth potential creative companies that are working in the music visual content business. The Visual Soundtrack programme is open to all Creative Industries businesses based in the South West of England and offers unique access to, and support from, a distinguished Advisory Panel of digital music industry specialists assembled to help participating businesses grow and compete in a rapidly evolving commercial landscape.
The Visual Soundtrack project is taking a two pronged approach. Firstly, to provide sector specific support and mentoring for 10 of the region’s brightest and most promising creative businesses. Secondly, working with the participating businesses to develop and test innovative commercial music visual products and services. Simply, to equip businesses involved in creating music visual content with the commercial tools and networks to help them earn more money out of the content that they produce.
Project Director at Gloucestershire Media Group, Geoff Foulkes says “I am really excited by the panel of advisors that we have put together and I strongly believe that together we can come up with some pretty special stuff. The business of producing and commercialising music visual content is changing rapidly. As physical sales of CDs/DVDs have fallen in recent years, there has been a parallel quantum leap in the opportunities for innovative and creative thinking in the digital domain. The aim for Visual Soundtrack is to promote a network of innovative thinking in the Southwest and a “can do” attitude to commercialising the digital space.”

The Visual Soundtrack is supported by Quays Creative studios and the Creative Industries iNet (Innovation Network), part of Solutions for Business, funded by the European Regional Development Fund and led by Creative England.
