BBC Innovation Academy : Capturing the Image
Last Winter, Innovation Academy produced over 1000 hours of learning by joining together the expertise and staff of the BBC with the wider media and technology community. Now, it’s back!
This session is all about cameras – big and small, 2D & 3D, using a variety of light sources, and streaming systems, in a variety of ways.
Contributors include the Springwatch webcam team, Natural History producer Colin Jackson, Bristol University research fellow Dave Roberts.
We’ll have short briefings on :
- Budget 3D with the Panasonic 3DA1
- Shooting using infrared with data cameras.
- iPhone – the new Super-8 camera?
- Minicams and webcam delivery·
- R&D using polarised light
- Getting the pictures back
We’ll follow up the briefing with a workshop session on workflows, focused on some of the challenges, and the opportunities for new imagery and new ideas.
The event will take place on Friday 22 July from 1pm-3pm in Conference Room A at the BBC, Whiteladies Road.
