No DescriptionOur work combines creativity and imagination with a need to deliver on time and in budget. This session is all about designing frameworks for creative work – balancing the need for thinking time with deadlines and delivery ; creating a motivated staff base ; taking risks without stress.

There are tools for controlling time, protocols for communications, and ideas on how to win more business and work in a wider ecology. We have case studies from 2 of Bristol’s high-growth businesses, insight from one of the UK’s top agencies, and some hands-on guidance.

Laura Marshall is MD of Icon Films - one of the top “true indies” in the factual TV sector, working with global clients, owner-managed, award-winning.

Ben Heald heads up Sift - Bristol’s biggest digital agency, evolving from its origins in 1996 into a range of distinct, interlinked businesses.

Ben Tomlinson is Creative Director at Poke London – with a hands-on, rapid-prototyping and inherently curious approach that creates great work, and bottom-line.

We’ll hear their stories, and open up the thinking in a panel session.

Part 2 hands over to Curtis James from People Who Do. With clients including Channel 4, Red Quadrant and Kings College London, People Who Do research, design and implement tools that place creativity, innovation and autonomy at the heart of businesses, which lead to measurable improvements in productivity, creativity and profitability. They teach new skills, release ideas and ease bottlenecks to transform cultures, with interventions that are practical, personalised and direct: big on doing, not just on theory.

So bring your own thoughts on your own organisation, and we’ll open up some new thinking about the business of creativity – that’s what Vision is all about.

The session takes place on Wednesday 20 July at Arnolfini Light Studio from 2pm-6pm.

Tickets are free to Bristol Media members, £75 to non-members.
