No DescriptionWith tuition fees set to rise Bristol based film production company Level Films have this year decided to support the Southwest based charity The Community Foundation for Wiltshire and Swindon.

Their ‘One Degree More’ initiative provides grants for young people whose home circumstances prevent them from going to university. Level Films were commissioned to produce a short film, on location at UWE, highlighting the charity’s work and encouraging donors to support the cause.

The four-minute film movingly portrays the story of 21-year-old Angela from Wiltshire who overcame tragic home circumstances and rising tuition fees to fulfill her ambition of becoming a midwife.

Angela is now studying Midwifery at the University of the West of England. She receives financial support from The Community Foundation’s One Degree More campaign.

The Community Foundation’s Development Director Jon Yates explained “The film encompasses the essence of the campaign and we aim to use it to gain greater support from donors so that many more young people can reach their goals.”

Level Films Producer, Ben Hewish, explained, “Having had the opportunity to go to University ourselves and knowing how beneficial it is, we feel that The One Degree More Campaign is vital to help support young people who may not otherwise get the opportunity.”

The campaign aims to raise £5 million, which will enable 30 young people to realise their dream of going to university each year and every year.
