No DescriptionAardman Digital was presented with the BAFTA for New Media for Wallace & Gromit’s World of Invention website at last night’s award ceremony in London.

The site was launched as part of the multi-platform campaign for World of Invention, which also included a six-part television series on BBC1 and a live roadshow. The online offering was built to support the underlying message of the campaign – to get people thinking about bringing their own ideas and inventions to life.

A series of online ‘how to videos’ and an online game (which has had more than 2.5 million plays since its October 2010 launch) helped engage viewers of the show on a digital platform, while a competition to design, create, film and upload a video of your very own invention got hundreds of children and adults alike thinking about science and technology in a practical way.

The award was accepted by Karen Heldoorn, Dan Efergan, Laura Thorne and Ricky Martin from Aardman Digital, and members of the BBC Online team.
