No DescriptionThe Bath and Bristol Enterprise Network (BEN) are hosting a Cloud Share networking event on Tuesday 10 May at Bush House, Bristol.

This event is for anyone who uses or is considering using cloud computing in business, and wants to know how to exploit its full potential.

Many people in business have now used some cloud applications and have learned a lot from doing so.  But few have broad experience across a range of applications, or of how to integrate them.

The focus of this event will be on sharing experiences and knowledge in a collaborative and informative way.

Professor Dave Cliff of the University of Bristol will give an overview of commercial cloud applications and their use in business. He will highlight areas of challenge and possible solutions as well as reviewing real-world examples of businesses operating their IT in the cloud. For the curious amongst you there may even be a little future gazing!

Martin Coulthard will present how Science City Bristol/BEN is moving its operations into the cloud (click on diagram above for details), and what we are learning from this.

Google's main cloud product, Google Apps for Business, is a market leader with over 3 million customers but there is a shortage of support for users and developers learning how to exploit this product.  A Bristol-based group, Google Tools for Business, seeks to address this shortfall and Michael Corbett, the group's founder, will speak at the meeting to explain the group's aims and how you can get involved.

Throughout the networking and presentations we will collect suggestions from delegates for the key questions relating to doing business in the cloud.

The most frequently asked questions will then be explored in a set of workshop sessions aimed at facilitating knowledge sharing and peer networking.

This event includes food and drink.
