No DescriptionShooting has started at the Bottle Yard in Bristol on a new supermarket-set Sky 1 HD sitcom starring Jane Horrocks.

Trollied, helmed by Shameless director Paul Walker, is the latest production to start filming at the Bottle Yard in Hengrove, Bristol’s new dedicated film and TV production facility.

The Bottle Yard is an innovative partnership initiative supported by Bristol City Council and the South West Regional Development Agency, and is managed and promoted by South West Screen.

Trollied will focus on the staff of the fictional Valco budget store in Warrington. An entire supermarket has been built from scratch at the Bottle Yard, containing thousands of products.

Horrocks, best known as Bubble from Absolutely Fabulous, will lead the cast, appearing alongside Game of Thrones star Mark Addy, Being Human's Jason Watkins and This Is England actress Chanel Cresswell.

Production on Trollied has already started at the Bottle Yard. Filming will continue until June and the series will air on Sky1 HD in July.

Fiona Francombe, South West Screen’s Production Services Manager, said: “The arrival of Trollied at the Bottle Yard is yet another ringing endorsement of the site and the facilities that are on offer there to filmmakers.

“The sheer scale of the site means that we accommodate more than one production at the same time, with iFeatures film Eight Minutes shooting at the Bottle Yard at the same time as Trollied.
“The word continues to spread in the film and television industry that the Bottle Yard is a production facility that can accommodate major television and film productions. We are delighted that Sky and Rough Cut have chosen the Bottle Yard as the location for Trollied.”

Simon Cook, Bristol City councillor responsible for culture, sport and capital projects, said: “I am delighted to hear that Sky is using the Bottle Yard for this new series. It shows just how successful this new facility is becoming and that Bristol is reinforcing its reputation as a centre for film and television production.
“We are confident that more companies will become interested in what we have to offer and the Bottle Yard will go from strength to strength.”

Sky's head of comedy Lucy Lumsden said: “Trollied is the first of a number of brand new British comedies for Sky and we're extremely excited by the talent around the show, on and off screen.”
Executive producer Ash Atalla, managing director at Roughcut TV, added: “Trollied is a big-scale commission with big ambition and big stars. It cements Roughcut TV as one of the fastest-growing independents in the world of scripted comedy and entertainment and we're delighted to be working with Sky 1 HD.”

iFeatures film Eight Minutes Idle, starring Tom Hughes, best known as Nick Slade from Silk, and Ophelia Lovibond (Nowhere Boy, 4.3.2.1.) recently finished filming at the Bottle Yard, a 300,000 sq. ft. former winery and bottling plant.

Other filming that has taken place at the Whitchurch Lane site, the South West’s largest dedicated production space and location facility, includes the award-winning drama Five Daughters, Dirk Gently, Casualty and the first iFeatures film In The Dark Half.

Last year South West Screen registered more than 1,600 filming days in the South West and approximately £62 million inward investment brought into the area by film and television production. Bristol is home to major TV productions including C4’s Skins, BBC’s Casualty and Mistresses. Feature films that have shot in the South West recently include Steven Spielberg’s upcoming War Horse, Mark Romanek’s Never Let Me Go, Stephen Frears’s Tamara Drewe and Richard Curtis’s The Boat That Rocked.
