Bristol Media Preferred Supplier, Rebecca Steer of Steer & Co, presents this in depth Copyright Workshop at Goldbrick House on Wednesday 22nd June.  Steer & Co are a niche Bristol based law practice who provide legal and business direction to the media and technology industry and this will be the second time they've run this excellent workshop for us.

Who should attend?
Managing directors, account managers, licensing executives and creative’s who develop copyright works
   
The workshop will cover:
·1 What is copyright?
·2 Who owns copyright? This will include a look at employees and consultants and work developed in collaboration with multiple parties.
·3 How to protect your pitches and ideas.
·4 How to ensure you get paid for copyright which you develop.
·5 How to safely use someone’s copyright work.
·6 Monetising your work. This will include a look at the techniques of licensing and issues around selling and using your rights. It will also help you recognise the value of copyright to your business.
·7 How to deal with infringement and stolen ideas.
·8 Update on recent media related copyright cases.
·9 Question and Answer session.
   
By the end of the session you will:

·1 Know how to ensure your business is maximising its value and minimising its risk from copyright.
·2 Have some strategies for how to protect your investment in pitches and ideas developed for specific clients.
·3 Be aware of how to manage copyright used in your business which is developed by staff, freelancers and via collaborations.
·4 Know what to do if someone is infringing your copyright. 

The workshop will take place in The Loft at Goldbrick House from 4pm-6pm on  Wednesday 22nd June and is free to members and £25 for non-members.  Last time we ran this session it was overbooked so if you are interested, please register asap to reserve your place.
