BBC Innovation Academy : 21st Century Local News
Across the world, news is changing fast as social media, citizen reporting, and expert bloggers change the face of journalism. We have a huge appetite for information and stories, and how news is delivered, who it is from and how relevant it is are all being redefined.
With diverse communities and great knowledge-bases, the Bristol area is well-placed for innovation – so what skills to we need to move forward?
To discuss and explore these ideas the BBC Innovation Academy, in association with Bristol Media and Bristol Anchor project, are hosting 2 special sessions at Watershed, Bristol on Friday 1 April.
These events are the last in the current series of extremely successful Innovation Academy sessions that began in January. The feedback has been fantastic so don't miss the chance to book a place.
There will be a Panel Session at 1pm followed by a Journalism Training session with Matthew Eltringham from the BBC College of Journalism.
Confirmed guest speakers include Andy Channelle (Red Cross), Damian Radcliffe (Ofcom), William Perrin (Talk About Local), Mark Palmer (UWE) and Phil Gibbons (BCFM).
