No DescriptionGive it Up for One25 : 3rd -  8th March

The idea:

One25 has been working for 16 years in Bristol, reaching out to women trapped in street sex work, supporting them to break free and build new lives away from poverty, violence and addictions. They are launching a new campaign called 'Give it up for One25' which will see people across the city pledging to give up something that’s important to them to raise money and awareness of their work. Whether it's cigarettes and alcohol, watching TV, driving your car or brushing your hair, be as creative as you like and raise money by:

• collecting sponsorship
• fining yourself if you break your pledge
• donating any savings you made during the challenge

You don't have to be a woman to take part - it is open to everyone to show their support for the fantastic women we help. We can provide you with a customised display poster to promote what you're giving up and help you gain sponsorship for friends, family and colleagues.

The ‘Give it Up for One 25’ challenge, which will last for 125 hours, will begin at midday on Thursday 3rd March, and end at 5pm on Tuesday 8th March 2011, which is also the Centenary of International Women's Day.

One25 are asking people to video blog themselves during the challenge and send their clips in so they can compile a 'best of the best' and make a post-campaign video. They also welcome stories and photos of people taking part so they can be featured in the One25 blog.
