Turning Ideas into Business
Start up and established business will be sharing the challenge of keeping creativity in their business at an event jointly staged by the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Institute of Directors this month.
Entrepreneurs Griff Holland, co-founder of Bristol-based whole food outlet Friska, Mark Mason, CEO of the UK’s largest developer of mobile phone applications Mubaloo, and Miles Bullough, Head of Broadcast at Aaardman Animations, will be sharing the platform to give an insight into three of Bristol’s most successful creative businesses at different stages of their careers.
The event - jointly staged by the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Institute of Directors (IoD) - is being held at the UWE Street Cafe on 10 November.
It will address issues such as ‘How do you innovate to take your business from micro to global?’, ‘Is there any such thing as a new idea?’ and ‘How do you keep business creativity fresh in order to stay one step ahead of the competition?’
Event organiser, Karen White, deputy chair of the IOD, Bristol, and director of JBP PR & Parliamentary Affairs commented:
“Keeping creativity fresh is increasingly important to sustain growth in today’s fast moving business landscape. Friska, Mubaloo and Aaardman will be taking us through the creative challenges of business at three very different stages of their lifecycles – start up, a nationally expanding enterprise and an established household name across the globe.
“We also want this event to act as a platform for budding entrepreneurs to get involved in creative business thinking.”
The event, which starts at 6pm and includes drinks and a light buffet, will also act as a networking opportunity for attendees.
Ticket prices stand at £13.00 + VAT (£15.60) for IoD, Bristol Media & CIM members and guests, £17.00 + VAT (£20.40) for non-members
