This is the 4th annual edition of the NextGen 11 conference.  The event has grown in size and significance to reflect the wider understanding of the impact of this essential utility infrastructure investment on economic growth and societal development.

Speakers at the conference will include European Vice president Neelie Kroes (via video), Suvi Linden, UN Broadband Commissioner, and Chris Holden, President of the FTTH Council Europe.  Other top-flight speakers include the renowned UK-based futurologist Rohit Talwar and Kate McGavan, Head of Broadband Policy at DCMS.

The main conference and exhibition will take place at the UWE exhibition and conference centre - http://www.uwe.ac.uk/hsv/hospitality/conference/exhibition/location.shtml - Frenchay campus north of the city and a special coach tour of the City’s new Enterprise Zone will bring delegates into the heart of Bristol.

NextGen Challenge:  As part of the NextGen 11 events, the results of the NextGen Challenge will be revealed at the Conference Dinner on November 15th.  NextGen Challenge is the UK’s first honours programme for achievements in Next Generation broadband deployment.  Entries closed in mid-October and a 2-stage judging process is now underway.  Shortlisted Finalists for each of the three awards categories will be announced at the beginning of November.

Cllr. Geoffrey Gollop, the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor of Bristol will attend the dinner in Bordeaux Quays to assist in the presentation of the awards.
