The event, which kicks off in March 2011 attracts over 30,000 digital companies, freelancers, students and business people from across the globe. Last year digital numbers officially overtook Film and Music, making it the undisputed No. 1 interactive festival in the world.
Over 250 UK based organisations headed over for the 4 day festival and Bristol had the second biggest contingent after London.
Beef, Team Rubber, CX Partners, Aardman, E3, Sift, 3Sixty, Mobile Pie, Simon Games, Mason Zimbler, Strange and Dawson and Watershed have all attended on previous years and we’re hoping more Bristol companies than ever will head out to Austin next March.
Mike Bennett CEO stated:
“SXSW Interactive is such a huge platform, it attracts leading figures from across the industry such as Twitter and Google, you get to see some of the latest technology, attend seminars around the latest trends, strategies and digital thinking and of course you get the opportunity to meet digital agencies, freelancers and practitioners from around the world. It’s a truly inspiring and motivating four days.”
He continued:
“With Bristol having such a vibrant and diverse digital sector, it’s vital that we’re represented as well as we can be over in Austin, not only to fly the flag for Bristol but to allow Bristol companies to make contacts, get the inside track on what’s going on in the industry and see how the sector is evolving so we can bring all that learning and new thinking back to the city for our economic advantage.”
Bristol Media and partners will be holding an “Austin- what’s in it for me?” session in November giving any Bristol Media members interested in going next year the low down of what to expect and how to get the most out of the fesitval. Watch this space for further details.
Go Team Bristol and we’ll let you know how they all get on!
