Game modes
The game features two modes – Sudden Death and Vs the Clock. In Sudden Death mode, the player has to flick, curve, swipe or shoot the ball into the net. Play gets increasingly difficult as the levels progress with more defenders in the wall and the ball positioned further away from the goal and at a trickier angle.
In Vs the Clock mode, the player has to score as many goals and points as possible. Using a bonus multiplier going up to five times their score, the player can increase their score very quickly. And the nearer their shot is to the corners of the goal, the more points they get, so skill and perfection are rewarded. There are also bonus icons to collect which give players more time, the chance to take a penalty or 100 bonus points.
Choose your country
Players can choose which country they would like to represent and there are 36 countries to choose from, including all nations competing in the 2010 World Cup, plus Wales, Scotland, N. Ireland and Republic of Ireland.
Facebook Connect, Twitter and leaderboards
The game is linked to Facebook Connect, so players can compete against all their Facebook friends, plus they can post and share their scores on Twitter. There are also real-time leaderboards where players can view the best scores on their iPhone, with their Facebook friends, their fellow countrymen and in the whole world.
Rob Small, CEO of Miniclip commented, “Flick Football is a truly addictive football game that will be a great addition to our portfolio of iPhone games. It fits perfectly into the casual games market and we’ve high hopes for lots of happy players during the World Cup and long after.”
Oli Christie, Managing Director of Neon Play commented, “We’re delighted to launch Neon Play’s first iPhone game and believe that Flick Football follows our mantra that games should be easy to play, but a real challenge to master. We’re also very excited about our partnership with Miniclip, both with Flick Football and going forward.”
