Course Description:

This two day hands-on course teaches basic editing functions while becoming familiar with the Final Cut Pro User interface.

In this course you will cut a scene, and create a short promo as well as master basic filters and effects.

This class is designed for anyone looking to edit professional-quality video with Final Cut Pro and who prefers hands-on and interactive instruction to explore it’s functionality.

What You Will Learn OVERVIEW:

Marking clips, using insert, overwrite and drag-and-drop editing

Trimming edit points

Using Ripple, Roll and Extended edits as well as the Slip and Slide tools

Applying filters and effects

Audio editing

Finishing and final output



Prerequisites

Students should ideally meet the following prerequisite knowledge prior to attending the course:

Knowledge of Mac OS X and basic computer navigation

Basic knowledge of editing terminology is recommended

About Vince John – Trainer

An independent self shooter and multi platform digital content producer. Vince has over 15 years experience in the industry and has produced, directed and ‘cut’ commercial and viral content for the likes of Yahoo, MYLA, Channel 4, News Group, Value retail, Anna Sholtz and various other Brands. As well as music videos, Vince is also currently working to get a sit com idea commissioned and will be making his first 25 min short film in October.



A regular TV tutor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Vince regularly trains local production staff in production skills for various projects with BOVTV Training.



Vince has over 8 years professional experience on FCP, delivering vast amounts of his work to various online platforms in multi formats. Vince brings a common sense and functional approach to his FCP training.
