Rubber Republic is Up in the Air

Rubber Republic, the specialist viral and social media agency based in Bristol, has teamed up with Paramount’s media agency MediaEdge:CIA to promote the Golden Globe winning film Up in the Air.
Up in the Air stars Hollywood greats George Clooney, Vera Farmiga and Anna Kendrick, and was directed by Jason Reitman, the director who also gave us Juno and Thank You for Smoking. The film scooped a Golden Globe for Best Screenplay this weekend.
Rubber Republic is taking preview clips of the film Up in the Air to the widest possible online audience in the UK, Australia, France, Germany, Spain and Italy. The four clips revolve around the key character Ryan Bingham (George Clooney), a corporate downsizer hired to fire employees for companies that are “too cowardly” to do it themselves. In each clip, Bingham shares his philosophy on work, business travel, love and sex.
“Our film campaigns are often based around bespoke online content to promote a film. In this case we’re on a different tack, using footage lifted straight from the film to showcase its wit and charm,” says Kirk Hullis, Account Director at Rubber Republic.
This isn’t the first time that MediaEdge/Paramount have turned to Rubber Republic for its online expertise. In 2009, Rubber Republic got the online community buzzing about G.I. Joe, Friday 13th, Watchmen, Transformers and Monsters v. Aliens.
