Futurelab’s latest Call for Ideas is open from 1st September to 8th October 2009. They are seeking ideas about new ways of learning with ‘meaningful’, mobile or locative games.

‘Meaningful games’ are those that enable learners to engage with important issues such as learning, democracy, environment and sustainability etc.

Mobile or locative games are those developed for use while learners are on the move or interacting with the places, objects or people around them.

If you would like further information or have an idea you would like to submit, go to www.futurelab.org.uk/ideas.

Bookings are now also being taken for Futurelab’s Autumn Conference ‘Seen and Heard: Young people creating digital media’ on 8 October in Bristol.

In light of the recent Digital Britain report, this one-day event will offer the chance to explore the opportunities and challenges for young people in becoming ‘digitally active’ as well as the implications for the professionals who work with them.
