This three-day hands-on course has been designed for anyone looking to edit professional-quality video with Final Cut Pro and who prefers hands-on and interactive instruction to best explore its functionality. If you sign up now, you can take advantage of the opportunity to take your Level One Final Cut Pro exam for FREE. Success in this exam will allow you to become an Apple Certified Pro, Level One in Final Cut Pro. There are three courses over the summer with the first one running from 15th – 17th July 1000-1630.

Course Description

Taught by Ollie Kenchington, an Apple Certified Trainer for Final Cut Pro and Motion, this course introduces students to the primary feature set and basic interface of Final Cut Pro. In this course you learn to perform basic editing functions while familiarising yourself with the user interface*. Topics include basic setup, adjusting and customizing preferences and settings, capturing video and audio, various editing and trimming techniques, Ripple, Roll, Slip and Slide tools, audio editing and audio creation, finishing and final output.



What You Will Learn

  • Working with the Browser and Bins
  • Marking clips, creating insert and overwrite edits and drag-and-drop editing
  • Trimming edit points, using Ripple, Roll and Extend edits and the Slip and Slide tools
  • Applying filters and changing Motion properties.
  • Audio editing and audio creation
  • Finishing and final output

Prerequisites

Students should have the following prerequisite knowledge prior to attending the course:

  • Basic knowledge of Mac OS X
  • Basic knowledge of editing terminology is recommended
  • Basic computer navigation
