Festival of Ideas - a packed programme for the fifth annual May Festival

This year’s Bristol Festival of Ideas programme includes:
- Ben Goldacre on bad science
- Marcus du Sautoy on mathematics
- Crime writer Christopher Brookmyre, Julian Baggini and Susan Blackmore on atheism
- Human rights with Helen Bamber
- ideas for the 21st century with A C Grayling
- Monica Ali and Geoff Dyer discuss their new novels
- Susie Orbach on Bodies, John Gray on politics
- Margaret MacMillan and Richard Holmes on history and its lessons for today.
The festival also looks back at C P Snow’s The Two Cultures lecture of 50 years ago, with a new lecture by philosopher Raymond Tallis.
Vince Cable looks at the economy and Alain de Botton at the world of work.
Two film seasons round off the festival: Movies and the Mind, and The Music of Light, a celebration of the work and ideas of French pioneer filmmaker Abel Gance.
