More wins for Bristol at 2009 Media Innovation Awards
![]()
Over 300 people gathered last night at the Ashton Gate Stadium for a glittering awards ceremony to celebrate the creative industries across the South West. This year’s Media Innovation Awards, produced by the Plymouth Media Partnership, attracted over 150 entries from across the region. The awards recognise the innovative use of media and design in the south west, and members of the cluster groups from Cornwall through to Dorset and Gloucestershire were invited to enter the 16 categories.
The Awards were hosted by Rob Walker and introduced by Mark Hawkins of twofour TV.
Karen Stockdale who organises the Awards on behalf of p-mp said: Both the number and calibre of entries this year was extremely high. The level of competition is increasing all the time and our panel of judges had a tough job choosing the shortlist from the huge array of exceptional entries. This year’s event is the most successful yet and the Awards are now firmly in the Region’s calendar; next year we hope it will be even bigger”.
Bristol winners included:
- Mobile Communications: Moosehunt by Simon Games for igfest
- Best Multi Platform Project: BBC Natural History Unit for Big Cat Live,
- Screen Graphics: 422 for Britain from Above
