![]()
Bristol is one of six officially designated Science Cities recognised forits world class academic research, strong scientific SME base and it’s potential to drive economic development through science and innovation. Science City Bristol exists to deliver sustainable economic and social benefit by promoting the area’s scientific achievements to attract even more world-leading scientific enterprise and research to the Region. The definition of science is a broad one and includes technology, social sciences, engineering and creative technologies, as well as the more traditional physical, chemical and biological sciences.
Pete Levy, Green Lit’s MD said: "This is a very exciting project for us. We’ll be working closely with Science City Bristol to help achieve these ambitions by utilising some of the amazing visuals and facts to create a series of films which both engage and inform the audience.”
Sarah-Jane Chilcott, Science City Bristol’s Programme Manager said “I’m a strong believer in the links between science, art and culture – indeed, Bristol’s heritage, built on the work of Brunel and others, helps define our culture.”
The films will tell a modern-day story of Bristol, building on the legacy of Brunel, Concorde and others, and bringing to the forefront recent achievements that already do or will soon affect the way we all live our lives. The films will be used by Science City Bristol to raise public awareness of the local achievements in science and technology, and thereby local pride. They will also raise professional visitor awareness of the local achievements in science and technology and increase the national/international profile of local achievements and raise government awareness of local achievements.
