Made In Bristol

Plans are afoot to develop a major new online showcase of Bristol Media members’ work, building on the success of the 0117 – Made In Bristol publication which was launched last December.

The showcase will be a flash based application and will feature the work of over 150 companies across the TV, digital, design, animation, marketing and photography sectors of the city.

Mike Bennett explained:

“Each company will get their own dedicated section where they can highlight the work they’re most proud of and will be able to include streaming video, graphics and animation.”

Mike continued:

“We plan to utilise the new ‘0117 Made In Bristol’ brand to bring the publication and the online elements together in a coherent and single message…this is very much phase two of the strategy to bring companies together, profile the fantastic work that is being produced here and to generally fly the Bristol creative flag to the outside world.”

Pete Levy, Chair commented:

“We were taken aback by the level of interest from around the city of companies and individuals wanting to be in the printed version of 0117. To be honest it caught us all off guard, so we agreed at the start of last year that Bristol Media would look at developing an online extension of the publication. We are not really restricted by the numbers of companies we can include in the online showcase and it also gives us a whole host of fresh new content that can then be considered for the second version of the 0117 printed annual.”

The standalone site will be constantly promoted via the main Bristol Media web site which is getting over 10,500 unique visitors each month and will go live at the end of May, with monthly updates of new work and new companies.

Anyone wanting to be included in the online showcase can contact Caroline for further details.
