Bristol Media and the CIPR- West of England group today announced a formal partnership to help bring the two organisation working more closely together.

The partnership reflects the commitment of both organisations to support the growing importance of the PR industry in the region and importantly look to promote Bristol and the South West as a centre of excellence for PR practitioners working in consultancy, in-house or freelance – be they clients, employers or employees.

Mike Bennett, CEO, Bristol Media said: “We’re delighted to be supported by one of the most influential PR organisations in the UK and are now really looking forward to being able to offer a range of PR-focussed events, spokespeople, training and networking opportunities for our existing membership.”

He continued:

“This collaboration will allow us to offer a whole host of services and benefits to our wider Bristol Media membership and we’ll be working strategically on some exciting new projects. We hope that this will be the first of several important collaborations with other networks and industry trade associations.”

Lis Anderson, Chair, CIPR WoE:, commented: “PR is such an integral part of the marcomms mix, that aligning our industry body with the organisation representing all creative industry in Bristol was an obvious move. PR should play a major part in this region’s growing creative economy and our Bristol Media alliance will certainly open up more opportunities for CIPR members. Even better that every thing’s right on their doorstep.”

Joint activities and initiatives are already being planned, the first of which, The Bristol Marketing Forum will be annonced before the end of the week.
