The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School’s TV Department have been running highly successful digital content training courses over the summer at the former BBC facility, Christchurch Studios in the heart of Clifton. RDF, Diverse and Wessex Water are amongst those who have undertaken sound recording and camera training so far. There are more courses running between 1st and 19th Sept 2008 and there are still a few places left. Christchurch is a fully equipped studio with sound booths, a pro tools suite and two edit suites and studio space.

  • Location sound recording for PD’s / AP ( £300 + VAT – 2 days) which will focus on the development of professional location sound recording practices and familiarisation with high-end industry sound equipment.
  • Final Cut Pro Editing for Directors / APs ( £300 + VAT – 2 days (inc – tape-less acquisition))
  • Aimed at self-shooting Assistant Producers & Producer / Directors.
  • Self-shooting DSR 570 for Directors / APs ( £400 + VAT – 2 days) This course will cover the same format as the Z1 course, but focus on the Sony DSR570 large form camera.
  • Self-shooting DV Directors / APs ( £300 +VAT – 2 days ) At the end of this course students will have a basic overview of shooting sequences on the Z1 camera and delivering content to basic broadcast standards.
