The View from Here - a date for your diary

In late September Ofcom will launch the second phase of its review on the future of Public Service Broadcasting (PSB). In its first consultation, Ofcom put forward four potential models for the future structures and models to deliver PSB. This second phase considers these issues in greater detail and considers the picture outside of London. The consultation comes at a moment where the television and communications industries are faced with changes due to new technologies and shifting patterns of consumption.
At an event on 28 October from 1100-4.30pm at the Arnolfini in Bristol, South West Screen will seek to provide a platform to explore in depth the key issues raised in the second phase of Ofcom’s PSB review and their potential impact for both industry and consumers outside of London. Starting with a keynote address from Stewart Purvis, Ofcom Partner for Content & Standards, the event will seek to gather opinion from industry experts and provoke debate on the future of PSB in the UK This event is aimed at: key broadcasters; public sector stakeholders including Regional Screen Agencies and Regional Development Agencies; policymakers; production companies; digital media companies; journalists – TV, print, online and relevant bodies including PACT, Digital UK, Intellect.
