A cross section of the city’s leading creative entrepreneurs have been asked to join a new Bristol Media Council (BMC) to help advise on direction and focus.

The group, which will meet once a quarter will be made up of representatives from all 10 core sectors including digital, design, advertising and marketing, pr, animation, TV and Film.

Mike Bennett, Bristol Media CEO stated:

“We want to take Bristol Media to new places this year and deliver a whole host of services and industry support. As the network grows we need to ensure all our efforts are relevant and our activity meets the needs of our diverse membership. I wanted to put in place ways to ensure we have even wider industry representation to help with more joined up thinking and collaboration between the various creative and media groups that exist.”

He continued:

“We’ve invited individuals who are already actively engaged in various activities that are helping to support the wider industry, so it seemed sensible for us all to get round a table.”

The new Council will have a very specific role to act as a focus for the network, to discuss and debate issues of importance and to help shape and define the strategy and associated activity that will be delivered by the exisiting BM board.
