A collaboration between Bath Spa University and South West Screen, this project is looking to create an innovative continuing professional development (CPD) programme for freelancers and employees in creative media industries, including Animation, Commercials, Film, Interactive Media, Post Production, and TV.

Combining the best of both worlds – Higher Education and Creative Industries expertise – ten short-course training and study modules will be developed, each awarded with post-graduate level learning credits and mapped to meet specific professional needs.

The aim is to create a flexible framework of ten modules to choose from, allowing learners to fit CPD easily and cost effectively alongside work commitments, whilst adding quality-assured nationally recognised qualifications to their skills portfolio. This is a Higher Level Skills Pathfinder Project (HLSPP) for the South West of England.

Why We Need Your Help

To ensure that this project focuses on the right skills, meets the needs of the creative media industries in the South West, is relevant and accessible, we are looking for 10-15 freelancers and companies in the South West to attend an informal get together in Bristol to discuss course content and delivery.

Your responses will be combined with national research from Skillset and earlier workforce surveys undertaken in the South West region.

The proposed dates for the meeting are Wednesday 9th or Monday 14th July and it is likely it will begin at 5.30pm for approximately 1.5 hours. There will be complimentary beer, wine and nibbles for those attending.

If you would like to have an influence in creating this CPD programme for the the Creative Media Industries, please email Caroline as soon as possible.
