Enterprising Britain Award
Enterprising Britain is an award open to all places (in the UK) that can demonstrate how they have transformed the community through enterprise in the last two years. All entrants must represent an identifiable geographic area, such as a town, a city, a parish or neighbourhood and be able to demonstrate that enterprise is central to the economic and social transformation of the place.
The deadline for entrants in the South West is Friday 18 April 2008, this allows a month and a half to conduct the regional judging process and submit the regional entry to the national competition.
Projects will be short listed and they will present to an independent panel of RDA representatives, business people and previous winners.
A prize package of £10,000 is offered to the regional winners in the form of a grant (subject to SWRDA approval of how it is used). In addition, all regional winners should receive publicity at both a national and regional level, through the competitions dedicated media relations campaign.
