Bristol-based digital agency Enable Interactive has been briefed to create a new website and social media strategy for War Child Music, the musical fundraising arm of international children’s charity, War Child.

The existing War Child Music website, which is expected to be revamped by the spring, allows visitors to download tracks from established artists, including Radiohead, the Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay, Feeder, Gorillaz and Keane, from a 7Digital-powered online music store.

The agency has been asked to increase War Child Music’s interactivity with younger audiences and download sales to help drive donations to the organisation’s work.

War Child, which campaigns to alleviate the suffering of children in war zones across the world, said the digital work helps the charity to raise the profile of its campaigns among young people.

Keane are partrons of War Child and have donated profits from their new single ‘The Night Sky’ to the charity.

All profits from download sales go towards War Child’s projects, which include the reintegration into civilian life of child soldiers in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and providing education for street children in Iraq.

Enable were awarded the project on the basis of their previous design, strategy and technology work on the UK War Child website.

Darius Pocha, creative director at Enable Interactive, said: “We’ll be using digital to build on the incredible connection War Child already have with their existing audience and helping that audience spread the word to their friends, families and peers.”
