Upstaged Launch Party
Endemol West and Bristol Media invite you to celebrate the launch of Upstaged at THEORY in Millennium Square on Tuesday 19th February from 1800-1930.
Gavin Henderson, Head of Programmes and Nick Hall, Head of Digital Media Programming, will be at the launch to present this lastest groundbreaking event for the BBC, broadcast on the internet and TV.
Upstaged is an 8 week entertainment event and is the first broadcast event to combine traditional entertainment programming with social networking on a massively ambitious scale. It is broadcast live, every day, on the internet and on TV from a stage on public display in Millennium Square where, during the evening you will be able to see the acts live in a bespoke glass studio.
Upstaged aims to let the online community take complete control of the event by letting them decide which acts go onto the stage, how long they stay there and ultimately, who wins. It’s not just about watching the entertainment – its about interacting and controlling the entertainment – it’s about making the entertainment.
Anyone from across the country can submit a ‘pitch’ to the website (www.bbc.co.uk/upstaged) and if the online community thinks the idea is entertaining and votes for it, that person is invited down to Bristol to perform against another act in the glass studio in Millennium Square. The event runs until 30th March when the winner will leave the stage £10,000 richer!
We are limited on numbers so if you would like to attend the launch party, hear how the innovative project is put together and see some of the performances live over a few beers, please email caroline@bristolmedia.co.uk as soon as possible to make sure your name is on the guest list.
