Expressions of interest in 'Digital Mentors'
Communities and Local Government are seeking to develop a sustainable, national network of people to help those with poor digital skills in deprived communities in England learn to use social and community media.
Through increasing skills in using websites, podcasts, digital photography, online publishing tools and local broadcast media, we want to:
*empower individuals and communities by giving voiceless and unheard citizens new tools to express their views and collaborate on issues of relevance to them;
*provide informal and formal learning opportunities and assist people into employment, particularly in the creative industries; and
*improve access to public and other services.
If you are interested in helping Government achieve this goal and have equipment, people and know how, please express your interest in tendering and share ideas by attending a workshop "in London on 19 November.
