Earth Pilgrim : A Year on Dartmoor
This Friday evening at 8pm, BBC2’s Natural World series screens a film produced by award winning Andrew Graham-Brown of Somerset based AGM Films. Earth Pilgrim: A Year on Dartmoor is about one extraordinary Indian man, England’s best-known moor, a fresh view of nature, and a rallying call for people to find time to sit under a tree and think. The programme is presented by Rajasthani-born former Jain monk Satish Kumar who settled in Britain in 1967, after an epic 8,000 mile pilgrimage. Now 71, and living next to Dartmoor, Satish shows us a typical English landscape from a very un-English perspective. Through his eyes, we see nature in a fresh, inspiring and uplifting way, and it’s a spiritual and emotional revelation.
