On Friday, the Government published Creative Britain, an action plan in which the future development of Britain’s creative industries is outlined. Led by the Department for Media, Culture and Sport, Creative Britain explores plans for the future of a sector which contributes £60 billion to the UK economy, employs 1.1 million people and which is growing at twice the rate of the economy as a whole.
The plan highlights several Bristol initiatives including Watershed, Licorice Media’s ARG MeiGeist, the SE3D animation showcase, the Pervasive Media Studio and plans for a a world-class centre of excellence in animation education from Aardman Animations, Skillset and the South West Regional Development Agency.
