Today The Jerwood Charitable Foundation announced its first national prize for moving image a major new prize for artists working in digital moving art.



Awards of £10,000 will be made in March to three artists. Entries open from today and judges including Dancer and choreographer Wayne McGregor and John Maeda, Head of MIT’s Media Lab will decide on the shortlist.

Entries are welcomed from film, documentary, video, music and dance and the award been set up to bring digital art to new audiences. Thirty artists will be selected for the shortlist which will be announced in January (when the work will be available for download).
