New award for SW film writers
South West Screen is offering a prize of £3,000 plus mentoring by William Nicholson, the writer of Gladiator, Shadowlands and the soon-to-be-released The Golden Age, to the South West-based screenwriter who comes up with the best script for a full-length film of mainstream appeal.
The new award was announced earlier this month at the International Screenwriters Festival, held in Cheltenham. Entrants need to have a completed script that is ready for the next stage of development and must be resident in the South West. For more details and an application form, see Screenplay Prize
