Creative Review cover Bristol Smoke Signals
Bristol’s Offload Festival made the Creative Review blog this week with some beautiful images of ‘Smoke Signals’ a sculpture by avant garde architects Minimaforms.
Based on the ancient system of trading messages, Smoke Signals allowed participants to text in real-time their messages onto plumes of smoke across Bristol Harbour.
Smoke Signals was part of a range of located media activity at Watershed during the Festival, as part of the lead up to iShed and South West Screen’s new Pervasive Media commissioning fund (which will launch in November 2007). Other highlights included an mscape workshop with HP Labs and the huge monster from Active Ingredient’s Ere be Dragon’s game (who had is tail pulled off by some people old enough to know better…).
