College Green will again be home to the world’s most powerful projectors this December as the city’s leading creative brains come together to put on a festive light spectacular for the whole city.
Bristol Media and the West of England Design Forum have joined forces to stage the event, which will see eight of the city’s leading creative agencies and individuals work together on the project which will run from 17 – 21st December.
Mike Bennett, Chair of Bristol Media says:
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to once again get some of the most innovative and creative people in one room to work on a project of this size. The event had an incredible wow factor last year and we want to build on its success by making this one even bigger and better.”
He continued:
“This year it will not just be static image but we’ll be creating 400ft animations all with a winter wonderland theme which will stretch across the whole of College Green and the Cathedral.”
Clare Reddington of iShed, who are producing the event, stated:
“Ideas and the concepts are already being generated by freelancers, digital designers and marketing agencies including Beef, Enable Interactive, E3 , Greenlit Media, McCann Erickson, Oakwood DC, Play Nicely, Spike Design and Thirteen. Some of the ideas are absolutely stunning and we are confident this year’s event will be one of the biggest and most spectacular light and moving image shows the UK has ever seen.”
“We want to make it a great family night out so we’ll also have music and festive food stalls. And we plan to give it a real winter feel by having a huge snow blizzard every night.”
The event has already secured financial support from the South West Regional Development Agency, Watershed, South West Screen, University of the West of England Faculty of Creative Arts and Endemol West.
