BM offers subsidised access to PACT tips on dealing with difficult people
The tv and cinema producers’ alliance, PACT, is bringing its much praised ‘DEALING WITH DIFFICULT PEOPLE’ course to Bristol for the first time this November – and Bristol Media is offering a subsidy to members from any area of digital or media production who would like to attend.
The starting point for the one-day course is that tensions often arise whenever creative ambition meets commercial constraint and that productions may suffer if the trickier personalities involved aren’t managed effectively.
The course usually only runs in London but Icon Films have arranged for it to take place at the Empire and Commonwealth Museum on Tuesday 6 November, and the Board of Bristol Media has agreed to pay a share of the cost to enable members to attend at a reduced rate.
The usual price per person is £180 but Bristol Media’s support means signed-up members (i.e. people who get our e-bulletins or work for companies listed in the directory) can have a place for £150, inclusive of lunch. Places are very limited, however, so please apply quickly if you’d like to attend.
The content draws largely on TV-based case scenarios but the tips on how to predict flash-points, counter games-playing and soothe egos apply equally to other creative industries.
